When I look back over our difficult marriage, I see many times when God made a way when it seemed like there was no way forward. When I felt I was up against a brick wall of discouragement, anger, frustration or hurt. When it felt like I had done all I knew to change, but my husband was unwilling to budge.

What the enemy means for evil God will work for your good and His glory. In my lifetime, I cannot remember when the evil desires of men were so blatant and bold about their agenda. But I must question if the level of evil has escalated, or does it seem more excessive because it’s the only angle that is covered in the mass media?

If you’re like me, you’ve got enough life under your belt to know that life is painful and rarely fulfills our expectations. You know pain intimately and because you love you have been hurt. Deeply. More than once. Or even twice. And maybe you’ve cried out, “Dear God!” possibly in a profane manner, more than you can count.
Do you know Psalm 23 by heart? I recently spent several days with a sweet friend in Florida when I realized I didn’t have it memorized verbatim. Not being able to recall the verses in their intended order had me missing out on the opportunity to use these encouraging verses to rewrite lies that cause me to fear and cast down the internal negative self-talk that tries to get me to question God’s goodness.
