What do we do when life as we know it gets flipped upside down?

So glad you stopped by! It’s a pleasure to have you here. I’m Sherrie Pilkington (Pill-king-ton) and I’m passionate about sharing how the God of the Holy Bible shows up for us when at best, life’s not fair, and at its worst, down right devastating.

When life interrupts where we thought we were going we find ourselves in deep pain with even deeper questions. Believers and non-believers alike question the good God who allows bad things to happen.

What do we do when life as we know it gets flipped upside down and everything we have access to is unable to make a difference in our situation? We’re unable to change our circumstance and the One who could have hasn’t/didn’t. What do we do now, face-to-face with the good God we profess and our lives feel as though they’re shattered beyond repair?

That’s exactly what happened to me in early 2018 when I unexpectedly lost my seemingly healthy husband of 32 years. I had to wrestle well with the good God I professed and in that authentic process of pain and grief I came to learn many things.

Some of which are: He never uses our pain against us so it’s safe to be raw and ask our tough questions. God pierces the pain of this life with His presence and His truth moves us through our grief and into healing. Grief is not limited only to the death of a loved one. There are many types of deaths and we need to grieve each loss because if not, pain will wait for you. God wastes nothing so in His hands our pain will see redemption.

I look forward to letting every heart know they’re not alone and that God is writing a much bigger, overarching love story with us as the individual He created us to be. I’m excited to share that the good God of the Holy Bible speaks the most beautiful things in the dark!
