What would a love note mean to your heart right now? To hear there is One who pursues you with a love that asks for nothing in return? A love you can never offend, that isn’t selfish or prideful. He pursues you with an insatiable hunger for love and calls you His beloved, His friend. He’s so wild, crazy in love with you He’s constantly calling to your heart and drawing your soul with His own bold heart that aches for you to surrender to His love.
His love is a jealous love—but not like our human jealousy that is prideful and competitive. His jealousy rises up in protection for you because He’s never fooled by the things of this world that threaten to harm you, to kill, steal, and destroy.
The love of God never takes advantage of us, never lies, and never violates our will or our choices. Our hearts seek and pursue many loud and shiny things yet in the midst we’ll find God’s love to be unchanged and true. His love is confident and secure … and peaceful. It’s powerful and intimate, so we’ll find it to be restful.
This love is discovered in surrender.
God has an insatiable obsession to win our hearts, and nothing else matters to Him. He’s impossible to satisfy unless we get to experience that He is the perfect Lover of our soul.
Our pain, shame, brokenness, and regrets are safe with Him. He wants every bit of us. That’s what His love is all about. Absorbing, dissolving, and restoring. That’s His heart for you.
God is the only one who can fulfill a marriage vow to the letter. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, and “I pledge myself to you.”
He requires no performance, no perfection. He’ll never stop pursuing our hearts until we surrender to His affection. Our fragile love is safe with Him because He carries the weight of the relationship. His is the type of love from which everyone around us reaps the benefit of our deep relationship with God. His overflow gives us a beautiful fragrance that lingers on all we do.
What are you tired of carrying by yourself? His love is offering to carry it for you. He’s not simply offering for the sake of winning your affection. Our submission or lack of does not make Him more God or less God. He is capable, He has the power and the authority over whatever causes a double-minded way of thinking that drains us dry from the inside out.
Find a quiet place, let God put His arms around you, lean against His chest and listen to His heartbeat for you. This intimate, sweet space of His covering and deep affection is the place where we can release our pain, control, fear, brokenness. In God’s presence, your surrender is safe in Him.

- Is there anyone you know who pursues your heart with a love so strong that there is nothing you will ever do or nothing you will not do that could take that love away?
- Write down the love letters you received over your lifetime. What was memorable about them?
- Who do you trust with your pain?
- What is something you wish you could give to God, something you want Him to make disappear?
- What do you hesitate to give it to Him or why did/do you take it back?
- What is your biggest fear about that pain?
Talk to God about your answers. Give Him praise, ask Him questions and then listen for His gentle response.
Take Action
Use God’s word to take control over the traumas in your life. Whenever you feel terrorized by your thoughts take them captive by replacing them with the truth of God’s promises in His word.
Here is a scripture for you to print, cut and carry with you and/or post in places where you will see it often. Ground yourself in God’s truths not Satan’s attacks. Encourage your heart and mind every time you are reminded of His great love for YOU!
Here is what God’s Word says about His unfailing, relentless, unending love for you:
For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
Translation: You are God’s beloved daughter, and He has a hold of your right hand. You do not need to fear because He’s with you every step of the way.
Additional truth but not shared in this particular scripture: He will do more than help you because He’s the husband that will fulfill every vow He has made and He longs for you to know Him as you prepare yourself for the union you will share with Him for eternity.
